>A quiz for David Hedrick.

September 22, 2010

>.
Unfortunately, the records request took somewhat longer then I had anticipated, but as my source told me… it was worth the wait.

I have a 12 page extract from David Hedrick’s Marine Corps personnel file.

Much has been said of the allegations by Hedrick that his record is classified.

It isn’t.

Hedrick enlisted out of Tampa on October 7, 1997 for a 4 year enlistment and was discharged on April 4, 2001.

He earned a good conduct medal, a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, a certificate of appreciation and an Expert Rifle Badge.

Hedrick was an 0311, Rifleman. He served in that capacity for 2 years and 11 months.

His records make no mention of any schooling or MOS of 0317 (Sniper) or 0321,(Reconnaissance Man). Hedrick was in Okinawa from June 3, 1999, to January 12, 2000.

He “participated in Urban Warrior Advanced Warfighting Experiment” in San Francisco with a “Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force” for 2 weeks in March of 99.

That is the totality of the entries on the NAVMC Form 118/Combat History-Expeditions-Award Record (1070)

This is a solid, if unspectacular, record. There is no explanation for the early discharge (Some 6 months).

It is a record of service to this country to be proud of. But it is not the record Hedrick has mentioned… and it’s certainly not the record his supporters frequently cited.

For example:

J Says:

This time you have been caught miss-stating the facts Lew. There is only one place with Marine pictures of Hedrick on the web. This video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BA0HrviTNBo&feature=fvw

Granted, you can’t see him well in the picture on the rope, but you can in many of the others. You took that reference from this video while clearly misleading everyone. Are you being completely forthright Lew?

Also, I found quite a bit about Hedrick’s “questionable military history” today after talking to a Marine who served with him in the same unit. When Hedrick is asked what he did in the Marines, he always says the same thing.

“I was a grunt in a HELO unit”

Hedrick was in fact a grunt in a HELO unit, albeit an extremely modest grunt.

Hedrick was also a Combat Water Safety Swimmer. This is the highest swim rating in the USMC with less that 1% making the cut. I found out you have to be a WSQ (permanent qualification) just to try out. In Hedrick’s class, of the approximately 100 or less WSQ’s on Pendleton, about 50 tried out and only 12 got into the class. Of that 12, only 5 graduated. Hedrick was among them.

I didn’t know that, did you?

Hedrick maintained a 1st class PFT throughout his time in the Corps, (Physical Fitness Test) the highest rating.

I didn’t know that, did you?

Hedrick was an expert rifleman, again the highest rating. As the best shot in his platoon, Hedrick was selected for and graduated from Designated Marksman training, which is a type of sniper school.

I didn’t know that, did you?

Hedrick was selected for and competed in Super Squad. This is a huge honor and is essentially the Marine Corps version of the Army’s Ranger challenge.

I didn’t know that, did you?

After serving overseas where he was part of a live mission (more about that later) he turned to the U.S. and joined Recon. This is Marine Corps Special Forces.

I didn’t know that, did you?

The fact is, how could a braggart who is “claiming to have done something that he did not do” for political gain, achieve all of this and most of his closest volunteers don’t even know about it? That doesn’t make sense at all does it Lew?

As for Hedrick’s involvement in a mission overseas, I am collecting information to corroborate the story I was just told by a Marine that was there with him. So far, it is nearly bullet proof. You might want to get an apology ready for this one.

Take a close look at the video above. Rumor has it that the island in the background of the picture where Hedrick is clearly shown on the deck of the USS Belleau Wood (The only LH3 in the Pacific at the time), is a little hotspot in Indonesia called East Timor. Hmmmmm, Hedrick as an 0311 (infantry), on the USS Belleau Wood, in late 1999, with an Island in the background that looks an awful lot like East Timor, where the 31st MEU, of which Hedrick was a part at the time, was conducting a live humanitarian operation as part of INTERFET, where according to Bill Clinton there were NO combat troops. Not a single one, I tell you. Clinton said the Navy was there to “feed the distressed people of East Timor”. For those who are wondering, 0311’s don’t show up to make you breakfast.

Of course, one must ask the question, what ship delivered the first round of support to East Timor where militias from the Muslim, Communist, West of the island were murdering and terrorizing the locals who had the audacity to demand independence, democratic representation and freedom?

That’s right,… It was the USS Belleau Wood.

What was the mission of the 31st MEU in Indonesia? Supporting INTERFET troops with supplies and logistics delivered primarily be helicopter because of the lack of fixed wing landing positions on the East side of the beautiful island of Timor.

What does Hedrick tell everyone he did in the Marines again?

“I was a grunt in a HELO unit”

Don’t worry; I will have much more after I check on a few things and it only gets better from here.

No. It only gets worse. Much worse.

There is nothing in the record to substantiate much of any of this beyond basic infantry training and a brief deployment in Okinawa. No mention of swimming of any kind. No mention of his PFT score. He never attended “Designated Marksman” training, which likely doesn’t exist, and certainly not as any kind of “sniper school.”

There is no mention of any “Super Squad.” Ranger Challenge is an ROTC competition, not to be confused with the “Best Ranger” competition, where 2 man teams, from Army-wide entries, are tested under extreme conditions. “Squads” do not Rangers make.

Hedrick shows as serving as a “recon Marine” for just under 5 months, but neither qualified for the MOS nor did he attend the Recon school (As a graduate of the Army Recon School at Ft. Know, with the MOS (it was 11D back in 72; it’s 19D now, as I understand it.) to prove it, I’m sensitive to that kind of thing.

To confuse such an assignment with a non-existent thing called “Marine Corps Special Forces” is, well, just something of a joke.

Calling the deployment story “nearly bullet proof” when there is essentially nothing to back it up is an example of the very thing “J” denies:

The fact is, how could a braggart who is “claiming to have done something that he did not do” for political gain, achieve all of this and most of his closest volunteers don’t even know about it? That doesn’t make sense at all does it Lew?

You’re right. It doesn’t. So the quiz question is this: why did he appear to do it?

This is an entry put up by somebody named Britany Welles, who apparently lives in Camas.

A US Marine needs our help.

At an August town hall, a Marine named David Hedrick stood for our freedom. You will recognize him from this youtube video that was played all over the world, including Fox News, Limbaugh, Hannity and the rest.

.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rRE5UK6NQU

.

We all know Hedrick is a Tea Party Patriot, but there is much about him that you may not know. Years ago, Marine Cpl David W. Hedrick, found himself serving on foreign shores. As a special forces sniper, with his spotter injured and unable to take the field, Hedrick could have stayed in the rear, but he refused. Instead, he ventured into enemy territory alone, and took up an over-watch position to protect a platoon of Marines on patrol.

.

Soon, an enemy sniper and his twenty some comrades bearing AK47s appeared within spiting distance of Hedrick’s location. The enemy took up positions to ambush the approaching squad of Marines. No one in his right mind would have challenged that number of men alone. Most would have snuck away or sat quietly, but not Hedrick.

.

Instead he fired his weapon taking out the enemy sniper and his spotter. Then Hedrick turned his weapon on the remainder of the AK47 wielding terrorists firing into them until his weapon was empty. While reloading, Hedrick was hit by explosives causing the disability and scars he caries to this day. Despite being hit by shrapnel, bloody and outnumbered, Cpl Hedrick continued to fight until the squad he had saved reached his position.

.

How do I know this story? My husband is one of the Marines Hedrick saved that day and my little girls have since been born as a testament to his courage.

.

David Hedrick is a real American Hero and he needs our help. He is now running for U.S. Congress. While he has more conservative grass roots volunteers than everyone else in the race, he will not be purchased by special interests and has refused their money. To remain competitive, Hedrick must raise $100,000 by May 1st from people like us. If he does not reach this goal, he can not afford to compete. We must not let this happen to someone who has given so much for our country. Please, even if you have never donated before, donate something and spread this to everyone you know.

.

After what David gave for us, can you do nothing? Please help this Marine, and thank him for what he did for every one of us. This is the kind of man we need in the U.S. Congress.

This kind of thing is pathetic on so many levels.

There is absolutely NOTHING to suggest that ANY of this kind of babble is true.

So, the cat is now out of the bag.

Time to come clean, David. This kind of Stolen Valor crap is sickening. And when you sold out your supporters by going to work for Herrera several months ago, imagine how much more effective this information would have been if I had figured out how to get it all back then.

>Do I detect a trend? The Longview Daily News endorses Heck… and Castillo!

July 29, 2010

>In yet ANOTHER stunning blow against the Card Board cutout from Ridgefield, the Longview Daily News gives Castillo a 1.000 batting average by becoming the third out of three daily papers in the area to endorse David Castillo!

The Daily News joins with the Columbian and the Seattle Times in pointing out that Castillo should make it through to the general election. Castillo is the only candidate endorsed by all three daily newspapers. Heck has been endorsed twice, and the clueless one has been endorsed once by the Columbian for reasons that defy description.

Clearly, a pattern is emerging: David Castillo is undeniably the best Republican… who also happens to have more endorsements then any of his competitors, even for a top two primary.

Previously the Establishment Queen of Inevitability, Babs has been reduced to Court Jester in a field where at least two candidates overwhelm the field in background, education and experience.

Here’s how The Daily News Put it:
.

Advance Heck, Castillo in 3rd District race

July 29 Daily News editorial

Color the 3rd Congressional District purple. District voters backed George W.
Bush in the 2000 and 2004 presidential races and Barack Obama in 2008. Republican Linda Smith represented the district from 1995 until she stepped down
at the end of her second term. Democrat Brian Baird claimed the open seat after
advancing from the primary to defeat Republican Don Benton in November 1998.

The 3rd District seat is again open. Baird announced last December that six terms were enough, setting off a stampede of hopefuls and instantly grabbing the attention of national Democratic and Republican party officials.

There are six candidates vying for this hotly contested swing-district seat on the Aug. 17 primary ballot — three Republicans, two Democrats and one Independent. Based on fundraising, name identification and endorsements, Democrat Denny Heck of Olympia, and Republicans David Castillo of Olympia and Jaime Herrera of Camas are the clear frontrunners.

The Daily News editorial board recommends that voters advance Denny Heck and David Castillo to the November general election. Heck and Castillo impressed us as the most capable candidates in this crowded field, and they would offer voters in a district that trends both red and blue an excellent choice come November. Both hold fast to the principles of their respective parties, but they have the maturity and experience required to understand the practical value of moderation and cooperation.

Heck has been successful in both the public and private sectors. He entered the public sector at an early age, winning election to the state House of Representatives at 24. Heck represented Clark County’s 17th District for 10 years, rising to House majority leader. He later served as Gov. Booth Gardner’s chief of staff. After leaving politics, Heck co-founded TVW, a statewide public affairs television network similar to C-SPAN. He’s also helped start up several successful businesses, including the digital entertainment company RealNetworks and a business that provides electronic medical records to health care providers.

Castillo, who declared his candidacy for the 3rd District seat well before Baird announced that he wouldn’t stand for re-election, also has worked in both the public and private sectors. Following service in the Navy and earning a bachelor’s degree at the University of Washington and master’s from Gonzaga University, Castillo went to work in George W. Bush’s administration, where he served as deputy assistant secretary in the Department of Veterans Affairs. He later worked in the Administration’s Office of Operations Coordination, helping to organize the Department of Homeland Security. In Washington state, Heck has served as chief of staff for the House Republican Caucus. Castillo currently works in the private sector as a financial advisor for Edward Jones.

Both Heck and Castillo recognize job creation and economic growth as the district’s top priorities. And they — more than any of the other candidates in this race — appear to possess the knowledge, skills and temperament needed to help advance those priorities.

So… what does these papers see in Castillo that they don’t see in the Empty Suit from Ridgefield? Perhaps what they see is… well… the Empty Suit from Ridgefield has, well, an empty suit.

Well done to David.

>Will this be the second reason Rossi loses?

July 11, 2010

>.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that 2010 will be a GOP year. The fringe left nutjobs running government at the state and federal levels are doing everything they can to get the dems crushed in the upcoming election.

That said, one of the more troubling aspects for the GOP is the unbelievable arrogance establishment candidates like Dino Rossi and Jaime Herrera typically show.

Herrera, who fired the LA she acquired when she got the appointment in 07 because she was “too old,” has been the epitome of arrogance. Of course, having an interfering Godfather type like McMorris around to drag her to the finish line doesn’t help in that regard, nor does her almost mythical ability to be given everything she’s received instead of actually going out and earning it. Herrera, like Rossi, have become legends in their own minds. They see themselves as being unstoppable.

This, however, is Washington State. And their is no sure thing. Herrera’s leftist tendencies verified when she moronically told the Columbian:

“Not once have you heard me criticize Brian Baird’s performance in Southwest Washington,” she told the editorial board. “Linda Smith and Baird both have an independent streak.”

As if Baird hadn’t done volumes of things worth not only “criticizing” but condemning outright; when combined with her “Guardian of the SEIU” status and her help gladly given to the leftists to rip off the last $229 million out of the state emergency fund…. these are the kinds of things that make genuine Republicans cringe at the very idea of a closet leftist like Herrera getting elected to dog catcher.

Rossi, of course, has the same types of problems based on HIS “anointed” status.

As a rule, over-arching arrogance isn’t an attractive reason to vote for someone.

Rossi’s first horrific mistake based on arrogance was his failure to announce back in February. That allowed the fringe left to use him as a pinata while he couldn’t answer; it gave Murray the opportunity to raise additional millions unencumbered by having high profile competition and it kept Rossi from getting a 4 month head start on his own fundraising needs… his bogus “he raised $600,000 in a week!” crock notwithstanding.

Now, his second mistake built out of arrogance: blowing off the grass roots in the guise of the Tea Party.

Why Dino Rossi isn’t courting the tea party

The GOP front-runner skipped the movement’s forums, but that likely won’t hurt his chances in the 2010 election.

By Jim Brunner

Seattle Times political reporter

The evening had all the flavor of the conservative insurgency that has become this year’s popular national political narrative — a tide that has washed away establishment GOP candidates in Utah, Kentucky and Florida in favor of fiery tea-party-backed rivals.

And yet there was one crucial absence: Republican front-runner Dino Rossi, who spent the day at a Spokane Republican women’s luncheon. It was the second big tea-party forum he has skipped in recent weeks

More:

One of the things you learn in this business is that there are, in reality, two elements to a successful election.

The first, of course, particularly in a contested primary with a relatively low turn out coming up, is to provide people with reasons to vote for you. At this point, as far as I can tell, the only reason to vote for Rossi is that he’s Rossi.

That’s not nearly good enough for me, at least, and I will not be voting for Rossi. I’m long since the stage in my life where I find “settle for” votes to be acceptable.

The second, and easily the “as important” aspect of elections is to not provide people with reasons to vote against you.

Locally, the best example of that truism is Jon Russell, whose consistent lies and exaggerations, combined with his use of Washougal city government as a campaign prop along with his avoidance of responsibility for the many times he’s screwed up as a councilman has provided thousands of people with many reasons to blow past him on the ballot.

Rossi, on the other hand, heaps scorn on the Tea Party by acting as if they didn’t exist.

Well, here’s a clue: those of us supporting the Tea Party issues DO exist. And if he goes to the general… he will need each and every one of those votes… and he won’t get them.

Yeah, yeah…. I’ve seen the polling. But we live in a state as deep and darkly blue as downtown Moscow when it comes to election results.

Does ANYONE believe that if he gets to the general, Rossi will win in a blowout?

I’m not convinced he can win or will win by any number. But does anyone think it isn’t going to be close?

I will be among the percentage of those who will not vote for Rossi under any circumstances. That percentage may be small… but it will be there.

And that, like this moronic delay in announcing, will be the fault of the arrogance of Rossi.

>So, members of the local party (Those in the Herrera Herd) are a little bit upset with me.

July 5, 2010

>.

For the last few days, there’s been a little kerfuffle going on in local party circles because someone in party leadership followed orders and distributed a remark of mine from both this blog and Clark County Politics that says the following:

“The despicable political cartoon that is Jaime Herrera will not mysteriously cease being the waste of skin she is. Concepts of honor and truth will remain as foreign to her if she wins as they are now.

For purposes of context, the body of the post in question is provided here:

Recently, I was asked: If Herrera wins the primary, are you going to let up on her?”

Not only no, but hell no.

Folks, I believe there is a place for partisan politics. But as individuals, we must find the line between blind obedience to a party line and the suspension of common sense.

Party allegiance isn’t a death warrant. At the end of the day, if Ridgefield Barbie and her keepers manage to fool enough people into voting her in, either through to the general or, God forbid, into Congress, what exactly does that change?

Will she somehow magically become honorable? Will someone install a knowledge chip that will give her a clue about any of the major issues confronting us? Will she suddenly stop lying to us, exaggerating her background, her knowledge and suitability to actually be IN Congress? Will she suddenly cease her betrayal of Republican principles like she did while in the legislature, becoming a Guardian of the SEIU and while spending our money like a drunken sailor to help her leftist buddies? Can we be sure that she’ll betray us again, representing Cathy McMorris Rogers, who built her from the ground up, instead of us?

Will the mentality that allowed her to leave the floor of the House for hours at a time to fund raise; which allowed her to ditch us during session for yet another McMorris trough session in DC suddenly return to the level where her FIRST duty becomes us… instead of her?

No.

The despicable political cartoon that is Jaime Herrera will not mysteriously cease being the waste of skin she is. Concepts of honor and truth will remain as foreign to her if she wins as they are now.

There are no circumstances where I will not do all I legally can to keep her from winning any election.

Period. Ever.

For those wondering, I hope I’ve made my position clear.

This person then goes on to write:

I was leaning toward David at one time, but this type of thing really soured me. I think David could put a stop to this today if he wanted to. If this isn’t reason enough to support Jaime, I don’t know what is. It is disgusting.

What that person failed to say is that they are now, and had been literally for months before this was written, a full-blown Herrera supporter; as they were when they sent out this sniveling email behind my back. Excusing their version of political treason as a reason to support a candidate based on what someone ELSE writes without that candidate’s knowledge, approval or input goes a long way to explain why that email was sent in the first place and behind my back in the second place.

And if that’s not a reason to dump the local GOP organization, I don’t know what is.

Not only no, but hell no.

Folks, I believe there is a place for partisan politics. But as individuals, we must find the line between blind obedience to a party line and the suspension of common sense.

Party allegiance isn’t a death warrant. At the end of the day, if Ridgefield Barbie and her keepers manages to fool enough people into voting her in, either through to the general or, God forbid, into Congress, what exactly does that change?

>Interesting factoid about the counties drinking the Herrera Kool Aid: They are ALL run by democrats.

June 17, 2010

>.
Ridgefield Barbie was basking in the afterglow of yet another county GOP organization cementing her status as the establishment candidate.

Nan Malin’s nonsense about Wahkiakum County grassroots GOP(all are teaparty activists) voted 2 endorse #wa03 candidate @jaimelherrera 3rd county 2 do so! #wcot #wagop is just that.

Tea party types loath SEIU shills. And Herrera is just that: an SEIU shill.

That said, the 3 counties that have endorsed Babs all have one thing in common: They’re dominated by democrats, meaning the GOP in those counties seems to be incompetent.

The list includes Malin’s own Pacific County, arguably one of the most democrat counties in the United States and where Malin worked hard to get Herrera the endorsement; Cowlitz and Wahkiakum. Let’s take a quick look at the political party in control of those counties, shall we?

The Pacific County Commissioners?

Democrat (Not only democrats, but UNCONTESTED democrats)

Assessor

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

Auditor

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

County Clerk

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

Sheriff

Democrat (CONTESTED BY A DEMOCRAT)

Treasurer

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

Prosecutor

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

God almighty.

Not only do the democrats own Pacific County, but the GOP leadership of that county is so inept and incompetent, they’re incapable of fielding any candidates! Unbelievable!

Hey, Nan: here’s a clue. Maybe… just maybe, if you focused on your business as a county chair in Pacific instead of everyone else’s, Pacific wouldn’t be a wholly-owned democrat subsidiary… because your work in Pacific is pathetic.

Being a county chair should be a lot more than a social networking tool, and if you can’t do the job, maybe they should get someone in there who can. Stop working so hard to become state chair, which will never happen, and start working on squaring your own corner of the world away… if you can.

The Wahkiakum County Commissioners?

Democrat (NO Republican filed)

Auditor?

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

County Clerk?

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

Prosecutor?

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

Sheriff?

Democrat (2 Independents, No Republican filed.)

County Treasurer?

Democrat. (UNCONTESTED)

The Cowlitz County Commissioners?

Democrats (No Republican filed)

Assessor

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

Auditor

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

County Clerk

Democrat

Coroner

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

Sheriff

Democrat (UNCONTESTED)

Treasurer

Democrat

Prosecutor

Democrat (No Republican Filed)

So, there you have it. Three of the least Republican counties in the 3rd District, including arguably the least Republican county in the United States (Pacific) which failed to field any candidate at the county level, while their party chair is out being a social butterfly instead of staying home and building the party’s future in Pacific County. Why even HAVE a GOP organization in Pacific County? It sure looks like a waste of space to me.

So, besides their deep, dark blue politics and the failures of these county’s organizations…. what do these three have in common?

Why, they endorsed the Guardian of the SEIU, Ridgefield Barbie.

And, it seems to me, that’s nothing to brag about.

>Chris Boyd withdraws from WA03; endorses David Castillo.

June 11, 2010

>.
Given Herrera’s efforts through surrogates to keep Chris Boyd in the race to draw votes from Castillo, it comes as something of a blow to their camp that Chris ignored their efforts and withdrew today while on the Victoria Taft show (KPAM 860) as he endorsed David Castillo for Congress.

Boyd, a disabled combat veteran made a very tough call while ignoring the efforts of some in the Herrera camp to keep him in… efforts that included an offer to pay his filing fee.

Lew Waters has an excellent write up on this young man, who rose to the occasion once again in service to his country.

We will remember this selfless act.

>From the Bizarro Zone: Dem candidate for SC US Senate wins with no campaign, speeches, signs or even a website.

June 9, 2010

>.
While not unheard of, it is yet another sign of unhappiness with establishment candidates like Jaime Herrera that a young man (32) in South Carolina; a recently discharged, unemployed veteran named Alvin Greene became the democrat nominee for the US Senate from South Carolina.

Greene’s secret? Don’t campaign.

Don’t do ads. Don’t put up a web site. Don’t do speeches. In fact, just pay the filing fee and then go home.

That way, you get 59% of the vote… like Greene did.

Alvin Greene South Carolina Senate

Alvin Greene, mystery candidate, wins South Carolina Democratic Senate Primary.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — An unemployed military veteran who raised no funds and put up no campaign website shocked South Carolina’s Democratic Party leadership by capturing the nomination Tuesday to face Republican U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint in November.

With nearly all precincts reporting, Alvin Greene, 32, commanded 59 percent of the vote against 41 percent for former four-term state lawmaker Vic Rawl, 64, who had raised about $186,000 and had to abruptly scrap a late-week fundraiser for the fall.

State Democratic Party Chairwoman Carol Fowler said voters unfamiliar with either candidate may have voted alphabetically for Greene over Rawl.

“As far as I know, he never showed up at anything. Vic Rawl has been campaigning everywhere from the time he filed,” she said.

Rawl said he was disappointed.

There can be no doubt that Herrera is the establishment candidate in the WA03. And we all know what happened to them last night.

>Shannon Barnett’s startling attack against Jaime Herrera: this must be read to be believed!

April 14, 2010

>.
Right from the Clark County GOP’s Own Web Site!

I get that if he ever had an original thought, it long since died of loneliness; and I also get that this is a rip off of the Evergreen Freedom Foundation’s fine efforts.

But his attack against Herrera? Why, that’s unbelievable!

What better day to discuss out of control spending than on tax day. I’m looking forward to unveiling my support for the ten point plan and I appreciate Lars letting me do it on his show.” Barnett added “The tax and spend liberals in our legislature are directly responsible for the fiscal mess we find ourselves in. They control the purse strings; they decide what gets funding and what does not. It’s time for new representation and people will agree that I’m the right one to help facilitate these changes once they learn how committed I am to reducing the size and scope of our government’s spending.”

Obviously, when Barnett is demanding “new representation” it’s because he didn’t think all that much of the pro-SEIU, tax and spend representation which we suffer for now.

And who is providing that representation?

Why, Jaime Herrera.

So, on one hand, I can finally agree with Barnett. Herrera proved herself to be so far over her head that when it comes to representation, I’d MAYBE hire her for the only thing a review of her qualifications shows her to be capable of doing: answering the phones at the 4th floor reception desk of the O’Brien Building in Olympia.

But I disagree that Barnett, who has yet to come up with an original thought, plan or vision and who finds himself reduced to aping the efforts of others like the Evergreen Freedom Foundation; is the one to represent me in anything.

However, I applaud his belated efforts to acknowledge how ineffective and expensive Herrera’s recent tenure has been; after all, voting with the democrats to strip out our last $229 million dollars out of our state emergency fund to help them waste these hundreds of millions of dollars certainly nails her as one of those tax and spend liberals Barnett claims to hate.

Combine that with her co-sponsorship and vote for the SEIU mandatory representation bill for day care workers, and, by golly, you’ve actually got Jim Moeller Light. And I can certainly see where that would make Barnett just the tiniest bit cranky.

But considering how he’s carried her water like Gunga Din, attacking her incompetent tenure in the State House is something of a surprise, at least to me.
