>Pharmacy Board grows a pair and tells Gregoire to get stuffed: Pharmacists can refuse Plan B.

The self-evident idiocy of requiring private individuals or pharmacies to do something that violates their beliefs, or require them to carry and dispense a product they may oppose is out there for all to see.

State Board of Pharmacy reverses Plan B stance
Morning after’ pill: Rule would let pharmacists refuse to dispense drug

Pharmacists who object to selling Plan B emergency contraception suddenly have the upper hand in their legal fight with the state.

In a reversal, the state Board of Pharmacy now wants to let pharmacies refuse to dispense that or any other drug, as long as they refer patients to a pharmacy that sells it.

It’s essentially what pharmacies suing the state over moral objections wanted all along, said Kevin Stormans, co-owner of Ralph’s Thriftway in Olympia, where druggists don’t stock Plan B. “That’s what we’ve done for as long as I can remember,” he said.

More:

Where the TNT board’s the fail boat is “forgetting” to report how all this came about in the first place.

Gregoire didn’t cotton to the fact that the Pharmacy Board has no difficulty differentiating between “private and “public.”

Those rules were meant as a compromise after long, contentious hearings and intervention by Gov. Christine Gregoire, who threatened to replace members of the Board of Pharmacy who didn’t vote to protect women’s rights.

One wonders what she’s going to do now.

The fringe leftists who have no concept of the idea of “private property” will throw a fit at the very idea that the state will not be able to force private individuals and entities to do what they want, the way they want it.

The stupidity of FORCING a pharmacy to fill prescriptions they do not want to fill is right up there with FORCING a gas station to sell tires. Allowing a political world view to infringe on private property rights?

No problem for those who don’t HAVE “private property.” Unfortunately for them, the Constitution stands in the way of additional government control over the private sector.

>The Rossi Conundrum: to run for the senate… or hang on for the governorship.

May 13, 2010

>.
Sources in the senate have told me late last night that two senate staffers who were going to take a leave of absence for the Rossi campaign cancelled them today.

Rossi is caught between the rock and a hard place. “Everyone” has indicated that Rossi would really, really, rather be Governor. With the rules for a situation like this, if Obama would actually be moronic enough to pick our disaster of a governor for solicitor general, the question would be one of timing.

As explained by the Swing State Project, here’s the scenario:

• WA-Gov: The rumor du jour is that Chris Gregoire is now on the short list to become Solicitor General, assuming Elena Kagan gets promoted to the SCOTUS. Allow me to say: bad idea, if only because it means at least several months of Governor Brad Owen. Under Washington law, though, Owen wouldn’t serve for long, as a special election would be held. The timeline varies, depending on when Gregoire might quit as Governor. If it happens before May 31, a primary would be held, followed by a two-person general in November. If it happens after May 31 but before October 3, it would result in a jungle-style election in November. And if it happens after October 3, we’d be blessed with two full years of Owen. One other major wrinkle: if this looks like it has legs, it may shut the door on a Dino Rossi run for the Senate, as it’s a poorly-kept secret that he’d really prefer another gubernatorial run rather than wasting his third strike on getting pasted by Patty Murray, and this would be the way for him to do it.

So, why would these two people cancel their leave of absence?

Dunno. Fascinating to ponder tho, eh?

>Many thanks for Attorney General Rob McKenna’s challenge to Soviet-style healthcare.

March 23, 2010

>.
Congratulations to Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna who is going to go forward with legal challenges to put a stop to Obama’s socialized medicine plan.

As previously mentioned here, I will not buy government mandated health care insurance; I will not pay fines; I will not send the IRS more money to pay for it.

In short, if they want me, they’re going to have to come and get me.

McKenna, being the only elected official speaking for the people statewide, has bitch-slapped our worthless waste of skin governor, who has thrown her own hissy fit because Rob didn’t get what amounts to her permission to sue… not that he needed it.

Gregoire, to our shame our current governor and a former AG herself, obviously knew before she threw her tantrum that McKenna could do whatever he wished here, with or without her support.

And in response to your moronic question that you’re so clueless that you don’t know “who he represents,” I would offer this:

He represents the vast majority of us who do not want this. He represents those of us who view the Constitution as something more then an a series of suggestions.

McKenna is right. The worst that can happen is that he loses. But if he wins, then that means the moron running this state would have cheerfully wanted us to live under unconstitutional laws that SHE supports. And to that, I say: drop dead.

>Memo to Paulson, Queen Chrissy and Taxandgougeme: What the people "expect" is for YOU to STFU.

February 19, 2010

>.
The senseless babble coming out of Olympia and Salem and the Ports
concerning our impending rape as reported by our paper seems to have shifted into “ludicrous speed.”

Thanks to Wallace and Pridemore, who never saw a tax or fee they didn’t want to raise, we’ve wasted tens of millions of dollars and all we’ve got is a stack of paper to show for it and little else.

If we actually needed the bridge replaced; if we actually wanted loot rail to come into our county, then the nonsense from the “Bobbsey Twins” might have made a difference:

“citizens of this region have watched our two states discuss and plan for a new bridge for over 20 years, and they expect us to proceed.”

Well, here’s a clue, morons: we expect you to proceed TO is to ABANDON THIS FRICKING PROJECT BEFORE YOU WASTE ANY MORE MONEY! THAT’S what we “EXPECT.”

There is precisely ZERO need to tear down a perfectly functional bridge to replace it with a bridge that will do absolutely NOTHING to improve freight mobility OR reduce congestion.

You two idiots would blow a hole in our local economy of $100,000,000 A YEAR.

Why is it that when sock puppets like Paulson at the Port babble about how wonderful this dogpile is they never seem to talk about the rape of the commuters who will get stuck with the bill for this massive piece of crap? If the Port of Vancouver… or these two idiots we have for governors… want this steaming pile, then let THEM PAY FOR IT.

How easy it is for batshit crazy types who will NOT have to pay for this to insist that WE have to bear that burden for THEIR agenda?

That’s what “the people expect,” since the scum in charge lack the guts to ASK us what we want… a feat that speaks for itself.

When this is over, we’ll be out billions; nothing will have improved, and the families living in Clark County will have been saddled with additional thousands of dollars of debt. 65,000 commuters and their families will be forced to pay for this senseless debacle… and once again, the phrase “will of the people” will be tossed on the ash heap of history by democrats… just like they tossed I-960.

>BREAKING: Gregoire breaks the law raising money for Denny Heck.

January 28, 2010

>.

ABC affiliate KOMO TV in Seattle has reported that Gregoire has violated state election laws for Denny Heck, democrat candidate in the 3rd Congressional District.

Gregoire breaking state campaign finance laws

Summary

State regulators say Gov. Chris Gregoire is violating campaign finance law by

raising money for a congressional candidate.

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) – State regulators say Gov. Chris Gregoire is violating

campaign finance law by raising money for a congressional candidate.

Gregoire’s campaign committee sent out an e-mail Wednesday afternoon

endorsing Democrat Denny Heck for Congress in southwest Washington’s 3rd

District.

The e-mail encourages donations to Heck, and includes links to the donation page on his Web site.

But state regulators say that’s not allowed under state law, which bans state elected officials from most political fundraising for candidates during the legislative session.

Gregoire’s campaign could not immediately be reached for comment. Heck’s campaign didn’t immediately return messages seeking comment

>Once again, I have to disagree with Don Brunell, President of AWB.

December 9, 2009

>.
Brunell is an interesting guy.

Most recently, he parachuted in to tell US that WE need to get screwed for billions on a project we DON’T need, and DON’T want.

He does represent the Association of Washington Business. But his lies about the bridge project make anything he writes automatically suspect. Reading Brunell talk about government is like reading Goebbels talking about the Greater Reich.

He told us here:

Washington View: There are no easy budget choices for Gregoire, Legislature.

Of course he’s wrong. Dead wrong.

Once government recalls who they work FOR, the rest is easy.

Here’s the list of cuts:

Eliminate pay raises.

Eliminate step increases.

Reduce budgets and staffing levels back to 2004 levels.

Those who remain after the cuts can always quit, right? I mean, where do they have to go?

And, of course, we can start at the very top. In ONE YEAR (2005), both the governor and lieutenant governor’s offices increased THEIR budgets on the order of 37%.

There’s nothing “daunting” about it.

Close up The Mansion. Get rid of the vehicles and staff. Move into a 2 bedroom apartment. After all, isn’t that what Governor Moonbeam did when he ran that tiny state of California?

Unlike the empty-suited, Anti-American racist bigot in the White House who throws these massive parties EVERY WEEK, put the entirety of government on an austerity budget.

The moron running our government has screwed us for a minimum of $30 billion on the Chrysler/GM bail out... a bail out that shouldn’t EVER have happened, but a bail out necessary to pay off his union masters.

So, unlike Mr. Brunell, I say the budget choices really ARE easy:

Remember WHO YOU WORK FOR. And then, reduce pay, benefits and workers enough to fill the gap, while cutting your own budgets at least the 37 percent figure to set the example and lead the way.

Unlike Emperor Empty Suit, who parties and golfs while the rest of us suffer, our government can act. It can stop being about pay offs, and it can START being about fair governance.

And what’s so hard about that?

>Blame for Boeing leaving? This state’s politcal leadership.

October 30, 2009

>.
When your political leadership has but two over-arching duties; that is, to get re-elected and to placate unions, there is a tendency to lose sight of reality.

Washington State legislative leadership is a deep, dark, blue. Political leadership, particularly in the areas where Boeing is located (Primarily in the Puget Sound region) is not unlike the paint job on my Mazda pick up: a blue so dark it approaches black.

The fact of the matter is this: Governor Gregoire does not hesitate to take the credit when someone writes a piece of fiction about how great the business climate of this state actually is. Those of us actually paying attention would frequently wonder: exactly what state was Forbes talking about?

We live in a state with unbelievable taxes. My business is off over 50%, in losses directly attributable to the Obama economy. Yet, that won’t reduce my requirement on me of having to carry a several hundred dollar business and occupation tax check down to the Department of Revenue Office later this afternoon (Unlike the paper, which got a 40% cut to THEIR tax this year) with no deductions of any kind because I’m not yet small enough to earn any, though Gregoire and Obama seem to be working on reducing our business income even more.

Boeing tried to tell us when they moved corporate to Chicago. Our deep, dark, blue political and union leadership didn’t listen. And Boeing is a microcosm of the entire business climate of Washington State.

Boeing has begun to emulate the same kind of business evacuation that’s taking place in Kalleyforrrnia. And Governor, I submit to you that your call for tax increases in the midst of this horrific Obama recession is not causing business leadership to look at each others and say “Tax increases? That’s a DAMNED fine reason to stay here.”

Add that to increasingly emboldened, legislatively-backed union extortion, and you have a recipe for a business evacuation plan.

So, Governor, when it comes to blame, you might want to stand in front of a mirror, and look into ever-shrinking concentric circles. There’s room for Lisa and Frank in front of that same mirror as well.

You know… just like you do whenever we have good business or economic news? Like that?

>Boeing Bails Out of Washington State: 787 line to be set up in….. South Carolina!

October 28, 2009

>.

So, Boeing pulled the rip cord after bailing out on the Soviet Socialist Republic of Washington, with our democrat and union-controlled government, putting the second 787 line in ol’ South Carolina.

And who can blame them?

Given the choice between setting up a huge business expansion here in the land of regulation, permits, unions, taxes and fees and South Carolina, is their ANY possibility that anyone would stay here?

With the move of corporate HQ into the hell-hole scum pit known as Chicago, Boeing sent the governmet of this state a message… a message our leftist leaders, who’ve been taking the Lazy B for granted for decades, chose to ignore.

Well, democrats and unions… have you heard THIS message?

Boeing picks South Carolina for 787 line

Boeing has decided to put its second line for building the 787 in North Charleston, S.C., not Everett.

“The decision has been reached,” Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon told reporters in front of the Everett Machinists Hall.

Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon talks with Boeing Machinist Charlie Grieser outside the union hall in Everett after announcing that Boeing’s second 787 production line will be going to South Carolina.

Seattlepi.com photographer Josh Trujillo reported that Reardon said: “We have to move forward … there are still thousands of men and women who work for the company in this community.”

Reardon said the the aerospace giant and the machinists have to continue talks to ensure that jobs stay in the region.

“We have to make a conscious decision in the state of Washington,” he said. “Are we going to throw are hands up and say, ‘We did the best we could?’ … the relationship between Boeing and Machinists have to be improved. We have to resolve those differences.”

Boeing made the official announcement moments later. “Boeing evaluated criteria that were designed to find the final assembly location within the company that would best support the 787 business plan as the program increases production rates. In addition to serving as a location for final assembly of 787 Dreamliners, the facility also will have the capability to support the testing and delivery of the airplanes,” the company said in a statement.

It said it remains committed to the Puget Sound region and that it will continue to build 787s in Everett.

The announcement ends weeks of speculation, debate and negotiation. Boeing and the Machinists union were reportedly deadlocked over a deal in which the labor group would promise not to strike should the second line be in Everett.

Boeing employees in Everett were disappointed by the decision and insisted Everett was the right place for the second line.

“We have the skill and manpower here in Everett to produce the second line, but we haven’t been given that chance,” said Zen Jenne, a union member who has been with Boeing for three years.

“I’m angry, I hurt for the workers, I think the company made the wrong decision,” Gov. Chris Gregoire said at a news conference in Olympia.

Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., who was rebuffed by the company after she asked them to continue talks with union workers, said “I really believed that the two sides could’ve come together and had a good deal for both Boeing and the Pacific Northwest, and unfortunately we can’t reach that now,” she told KING5 news.

“Very clearly, they were a stone’s throw apart in providing some real job stability, which Boeing has been telling us a long time that’s what they wanted. I thought there was time…to make that agreement and unfortunately Boeing saw it differently.”

Workers at the South Carolina plant recently voted to remove the union from the North Charleston plant.

Boeing’s engineering union blasted the decision, saying it “will hurt a program already stretched to its limit.”

“We are astounded that Boeing has chosen to compound the problems of the 787 program by further fragmenting the supply chain,” said Ray Goforth, executive director of the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), IFPTE Local 2001. “There is no credible business case for this decision.”

A number of SPEEA-represented engineers and technical workers are already in South Carolina. Goforth said the union will follow members and the work as Boeing expands operations in Charleston for the new 787 line.

State lawmakers just completed an incentive package to bring the line to South Carolina.

Meanwhile, Washington state officials, including U.S. Sen. Patty Murray and Gov. Chris Gregoire, urged Boeing and the Machinists to keep talking.

South Carolina officials reacted with glee at the announcement.

Gov. Mark Sanford called it the largest infusion of jobs and capital investment in that state’s history.

He said it “represents not only enormously good news for our state’s economy, but also a telling dividend from our state’s continued efforts to better our business climate. For us, that means lowering taxes, easing regulatory burdens in our state’s tort and workers’ compensation systems, and keeping South Carolina a right-to-work state.” Sanford said.

In Everett, Charlie Grieser, a 767 quality team leader and a member of the Aerospace Machinists union, said he felt betrayed by Boeing.

He noted that the company was given about $3 billion in tax breaks in 2003 to build the 787 in Washington state.

“They were given that money to build the 787 here. Not half the 787 here,” Grieser said, a 32-year company veteran. “I think this is going to poison all of the state on Boeing.”

>When Gov. Gregoire, Pollard and Leavitt lie on the same subject: is it the political trifecta?

July 26, 2009

>.
Occam’s Razor (Variously named Achim’s Razor or Achem’s Razor) boiled down to it’s simplest definition:

The generalization states that, if there are a number of explanations for observed phenomena, the simplest explanation is preferred. Called also scientific parsimony.

I bring this up to respond to our esteemed Governor’s position concerning tolls for the organized criminal effort known as the I-5 Bridge replacement/loot rail project.

We are told by the governor that when it comes to tolls, “There is no alternative.”

Of course there is an alternative, Governor… a blindingly simple and obvious alternative:

Don’t build it.

If we don’t build this unneeded and unwanted crap pile, then voile’! No tolls required.

It’s amazing, isn’t it, how those demanding this steaming pile of detritus aren’t the one’s who have to pay for it… and how they have no wish to hear from those of us who will?

And that, of course, brings us to the two anointed candidates for mayor, Pollard and Leavitt.

BOTH of these candidates WANT US TO PAY TOLLS.

Let me repeat that:

BOTH of these candidates WANT US TO PAY TOLLS.

When I was in the military, (I’m sure the good former LT. Col Pollard can relate to this) they were very big on what’s known as “back-planning.” Back planning, simply stated, is the system of planning backwards from the goal you want to achieve.

Every mission has/had critical components required to achieve said mission. The loss or nonavailability of a critical component, particularly when viable replacements are not practical or available, means that the mission must be scrubbed, or, at a minimum, re-evaluated as to scope, breadth, and achievable outcomes.

Make no mistake about it: BOTH Pollard and Leavitt WANT THIS BRIDGE AND LOOT RAIL.

They don’t care that we don’t. They don’t care to ask us if WE want it. And NEITHER of THEM will have to pay the $1300 or more or year required in tolls for everyone commuting… like the vast majority of I-5 Bridge replacement supporters who WILL NOT HAVE TO PAY.

Morons like John Laird throw a fit over a very few bridge lifts, asking moronic, idiotic questions like why we locals would put up with such a horrific condition. But like the rest of the downtown mafia bridge shillers, Laird will NOT HAVE TO PAY TO COMMUTE TO WORK. How EASY it is for the moronic to make demands on those of us who WILL have to pay so they can get their egos stroked at our expense.

Which brings us back to the Razor.

BOTH Pollard and Laird want the I-5 Bridge and Loot Rail.

There is NO WAY this thing can be built WITHOUT TOLLS.

Thus, BOTH POLLARD AND LEAVITT WANT US TO PAY TOLLS.

If, as we are led to believe by our erstwhile Governor, this bridge cannot be built WITHOUT tolls; and both of these blights on politics WANT this unneeded, unwanted, steaming pile of the waste of BILLIONS of dollars; and neither one has the testicles to either a.) demand that the entire county be allowed to vote on this moronic heap of dung, or b.) to draw the “toll line in the sand” and demand that the entire project, already wasteful of over $100 MILLION dollars in studies with pre-ordained outcomes be shelved if tolls ARE required, then of course they want tolls.

Because NEITHER of these clowns have stated “if we have to have tolls, then I will do everything I can to kill this project.”

Pollard has been a thug about the issue since day one. He’s simply forgotten the concept that HE is there to serve US, and not the other war around.

Leavitt has engaged in amateurish political theater since he started, with his most recent political soap opera consisting of the scamming of the hispanic, illegal alien vote.

So, let me be clear: because Leavitt will not oppose this bridge/loot rail project; because he will do absolutely nothing to force this issue to a vote of the people; because this thing cannot be built without tolls that will take tens of thousands of dollars out of the average commuter’s pockets over their professional life time, then make no mistake about it:

Tim Leavitt wants us to pay tolls.

As for this “Change” garbage, I urge the voter to remember the utter disaster this “Change” mantra has brought us. Further, I would ask “change from what?”

Hasn’t Leavitt voted WITH Pollard 98% of the time? Hasn’t he gone along with Pollard’s agenda, and that of the rest of the downtown mafia?

And when he denies it, he’s lying. And since we’ve had the biggest political liar of my lifetime elevated to the White House (Endorsed by his acolyte, one Tim Leavitt) I, for one, am sick of liars who intend to indebt us for THEIR egos, getting elected.

Aren’t you?
